GIVE APPRECIATED STOCK

When you donate long-term appreciated stock to a qualified charitable organization like AMOS, you can bypass capital gains tax, and claim a charitable deduction for the fair market value of the gift on the date of your donation. Or, if you sell depreciated stock, you can claim the capital loss on your taxes, donate the cash from the sale to a qualified charity, and then take a charitable deduction for the amount of the cash donation. Email lydia.caldera@amoshealth.org to receive the info needed to make a gift of stock.

GIVE USING YOUR IRA

If you are 70.5 years or older, you can take advantage of the IRA Charitable Rollover (which also counts towards your minimum required distribution) and transfer funds tax-free directly from your IRA to a charitable organization like AMOS.
