“When I get my smile back, I’m going to have a worship service of praise and to give thanks to God,” said María Haydeé Medina with heartfelt hope. María, 76 years old, has been a patient at the Samaritan Clinic for more than five years. Even though she lives nearly 50 miles away, she chooses to travel this distance because of the compassionate and reliable care she receives.

Over the past three months, María has been focusing on improving her dental health. The dental prosthesis she had been using for years no longer fit properly due to problems with her last molars. The discomfort was so significant that she began avoiding eating, which caused her to lose weight, and she endured constant pain in her gums.

At the Samaritan Clinic, the doctor recognized the urgency of María Haydeé’s situation. To provide relief and restore her ability to eat and smile without pain, the clinic extracted her remaining molars and canines to prepare her for two new removable dental prostheses. These prostheses will not only ease her discomfort but also give her back the confidence to smile again.

María Haydeé expressed her gratitude, saying, “I come here because the care is good, reliable, and I like it. I don’t go to any other health center because I’ve also treated my heart problems here. The dentist not only treated me but also explained the procedures that would be performed and how to keep my mouth clean while in recovery after the dental extractions.”

Thanks to the support of people like you, María Haydeé is on her way to smiling again—a smile she plans to lift in worship and gratitude. At AMOS, we are deeply grateful to walk alongside patients like María Haydeé, offering care that brings healing, joy, and hope. Thank you for making stories like hers possible!
