Francisco is 76 years old. He never married and has no children, so he lives with his three brothers and one sister in the Villa Guadalupe neighborhood. Together, they care for one another as they are the only family each of them has.
For the past nine months, Francisco has struggled with severe knee pain, worsening headaches, and a constant ringing in his ears, which causes him dizziness and discomfort. These symptoms made it more challenging for Francisco to continue his work collecting garbage in his neighborhood, so he had to work only half days under the intense sun of Managua, in temperatures exceeding 90 Fahrenheit degrees, until his knee pain was unbearable and he had to stop working, leaving him dependent on the support of his sister and a pension.
“Here at the clinic, they gave me medicine for my blood pressure and drops for my ears. They treated me very kindly”, Francisco told us during one of his regular visits to the Villa Guadalupe clinic, where AMOS doctors diagnosed him with hypertension and began his treatment.
Since then, Francisco has experienced less dizziness and is sleeping better. While he still suffers from knee pain, Francisco is hopeful. Thanks to his care at the Villa Guadalupe clinic, he looks forward to regaining his strength.
