Zeneida and Delba, are two dedicated volunteers for the Sexual and Reproductive Health Program in the community of Nawawasito.

“In our community, there is a volunteer mother who told me they were looking for volunteers for the Sexual and Reproductive Health program,” Zenaida shared. “I went to a meeting and liked the topics. Sometimes we think we know everything because we’re adults, but there are things we don’t know.”

Zenaida, a mother of two, lives with her partner on a farm in Nawawasito. She shares her home with Delba, her 27-year-old stepdaughter, who, likes her, volunteers for the Sexual and Reproductive Health Program. Together, they have formed a dedicated team, committed to improving the health and education of their community.

Zenaida provide informative talks in the homes of her neighbors, always with Delba by her side. “We support each other with the topics,” Zenaida said. “When I give a talk, she accompanies me, and when she gives hers, I go with her.”

With her education ending after second grade, Zenaida finds reading challenging, but with Delba by her side, she helps her go through the AMOS materials. Meanwhile, as Delba works to build her confidence in public speaking, she leans on Zenaida’s natural ability to connect with others.

“There are things I can’t express, and maybe she can, so she helps me,” Delba shared. “It’s a mutual help—if she can’t, then I help her.”

Delba leads a group eight people, while Zenaida guides ten. Each week, they visit these 18 individuals, sharing their personal experiences and the valuable knowledge they have gained through AMOS’ training sessions.
