What stood out to you about the AMOS orientation video (Day 1’s homework)?

Today, as we journey to La Danta, you’ll understand why AMOS works to extend the existing health system all the way to the very last house in the most remote community.

On our journey, we’ll drive through El Ayote, the location of the nearest health center. And once we arrive in La Danta, we’ll attend a welcome celebration with members of the community.

Watch Day 2’s Video below! And don’t forget to print our Participant Guide to follow along and collect the rest of Day 2’s visas.

DAY 2: VIDEO

Day 2 Visas:

  • In 2019, the life expectancy in Nicaragua was 74 years. But factors like poor-quality roads and extreme poverty can reduce life expectancy in rural areas like La Danta. Use this tool to find the average life expectancy in your community.
  • Read Psalm 46.
  • What imagery in the Psalm most stands out to you and why?
  • What are some of the challenges you face in finding refuge, security, or strength during difficult times?
  • How do you imagine the challenges you face are similar to or different from those of people who live in rural Nicaragua?
  • Homework: One unique part of a mission trip is disconnecting from the hustle of our day-to-day lives. This week, find an hour to meditate, journal, draw, listen to music, or pray. Disconnect, be still, and know that God is God.
